Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, Tems, other Nigerians dominate 2025 AAEA awards

 Nigerian artists including Wizkid, Burna Boy, Davido, Asake, Tems, Darkoo, Ayra Starr, and others were major winners at the 2025 Africa Arts Entertainment Awards (AAEA), dominating the list of awardees.

The AAEA Music Awards saw Nigerian stars take home multiple honors this year, as announced on the organization’s official platform.

Wizkid’s collaboration with American singer Brent Faiyaz, Piece of My Heart, won Best Afro-R&B, while Davido and Chris Brown clinched the Best Global Collaboration award for their track Hmm.

Asake’s MMS, featuring Wizkid, earned the Best Afro-Native award. British-Nigerian artist Darkoo won Best Diasporan Act for her hit single Favourite Girl, which features a remix with Rema.

Burna Boy was honored as Overall Male Artist in Africa. Meanwhile, Tyla took home two awards: Overall Female Artist of the Year and Best Female Artist, Southern Africa.

Tems was recognized as the Best Global African Female Artist. OdumoduBlvck won Best Rapper in West Africa.

Street-pop sensation Seyi Vibez was named Best Male Artist in West Africa, and Ayra Starr won Best Female Artist, West Africa.

According to HENRYSHUSTLE, the AAEA Awards celebrate outstanding achievements by music artists from across the African continent.
