Alleged defamation: Queeneth Hilbert sues IGP, Destiny Etiko for attempting to arrest her

Nigerian actress Queeneth Hilbert has taken legal action against the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, over an alleged attempt to arrest her.

Hilbert filed a fundamental human rights lawsuit at the Federal High Court in Lagos State.

In the suit, dated March 10, 2025, Hilbert claims that the Nigerian police sought to arrest her based on the influence of her colleague and close friend, Destiny Etiko.

Queeneth Hilbert has described the police's attempt as an "illegal, unlawful, and blatant" violation of her constitutional rights, and she is seeking protection against any arrest, detention, or questioning related to the video she posted on her Instagram page on March 7.

In addition, she is demanding N100 million in damages for the "unlawful invasion" of her rights.

This development follows a N100 million defamation petition filed by Destiny Etiko against Queeneth.

According to reports from HENRYSHSTLE, Queeneth had posted a now-deleted video on her Instagram, where she accused Etiko of allegedly stealing the wealthy lovers of her colleagues, including her own boyfriend.
