Latest Ruben Amorim decision will upset Man United fans as club releases statement

New Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has opted not to include Ruud van Nistelrooy in his coaching staff, leading to the departure of the club’s legendary striker from Old Trafford.

Manchester United confirmed the news in a statement on Monday, which read: “Manchester United can confirm that Ruud van Nistelrooy has left the club. Ruud rejoined in the summer and took charge of the team for the past four matches as interim head coach.”

“Ruud is, and will always be, a Manchester United legend. We are grateful for his contributions and the professionalism he brought to the role during his time with the club. He will always be welcome at Old Trafford.”

Van Nistelrooy returned to Manchester United this summer to work under Erik ten Hag. Following Ten Hag’s dismissal on October 28, the former striker took on the role of interim head coach, leading the team through an unbeaten four-match run.

While the 48-year-old hoped to stay on when Amorim arrived, it appears the Portuguese manager preferred to start his tenure with his own staff at the helm.
