He shared this insight while discussing his recent hangout with Wizkid prior to the release of his Timeless album in 2023. In a trending interview on BBC radio, Davido emphasized that the meeting was meant to demonstrate to fans that there were no issues between them and to keep the album's launch free of drama.
In a video from the interview shared on Instagram by bwetv.ng, Davido recounted how he reached out to one of his dedicated fans, expressing his wish to prevent any disputes involving Wizkid's supporters, known as FC.
“I contacted one of my fans, Tomiwa, who connects with everyone. I told him, ‘My album drops on Thursday. Please, let’s avoid any conflicts with Wizkid fans. Don’t engage in any fights.’
“I had just spent time with Wizkid a few days ago, and we weren’t fighting. I wanted my album to be released smoothly, but Tomiwa ended up getting into an argument, and my album leaked two days before the launch. Still, these fans are incredible and have their positive aspects too.”
