‘They contacted me first’ – Wizkid reveals why Puma chose Davido over him

 

Nigerian Afrobeat artist Wizkid has revealed why the well-known fashion brand Puma selected Davido instead of him. On Wednesday, Wizkid expressed his thoughts in a social media outburst directed at Davido. Amid the ongoing rivalry between the two superstars, an X user named @NelsonEpega accused Wizkid of frustration and jealousy over Davido’s recent Puma deal. 

Reacting to @Nelson Epega’s video, Wizkid in a viral post on X, stated that Puma settled for Davido because they couldn’t afford him.

Wizkid wrote: ” U idiot! I turned down Puma because they could no longer afford to pay me because I wanted more! Don’t need dat! Way bigger than every artiste you just mentioned! Not jealous ! love them all. With ur dirty ass shirt! Idiot!

“No ! Puma is a Big brand! But the budget they had for Africa wasn’t for me! Was cool for your client tho!”
