Newcastle United complete triple transfer swoop for teenage talents

Newcastle United has reportedly completed a triple signing of three promising teenage players. CJ Afumuzor joins from Portsmouth, Lesecond Yeutembip comes from Charlton Athletic, and Leon Mukumbira arrives from Peterborough United. 

For Afumuzor, this transfer concludes a lengthy process, as the talented midfielder has been linked with the Magpies since the summer.

The fan page Magpie247 shared an image on Instagram of Afumuzor—who won’t turn 15 until October 21—posing with a Newcastle United shirt, confirming his arrival.

Meanwhile, Yeutembip, a center-back who won’t turn 15 until January, joins Newcastle after making a strong impression with Charlton Athletic in London. “Many thanks to my family, especially my mom, and to all the coaches who have supported me along the way,” the young player shared on social media (via the Chronicle). “All praise to God—now it’s time to get to work!” Mukumbira is a skilled forward who has stood out in Peterborough’s youth system. “I want to express my gratitude to everyone who has helped me reach this point. Thanks to my mom and my family, and we just thank God,” he stated.

Newcastle United Advances Youth Development with Triple Signing

The addition of these three players represents a significant step in Newcastle United's youth recruitment strategy. 

According to the Chronicle, the Magpies have recently transitioned their academy to a full-time training model, allowing them to recruit players from across the country at various age levels. 

The signings of Afumuzor, Yeutembip, and Mukumbira follow last year's contracts for Sam Alabi from Oldham Athletic, Michael Mills from Port Vale, Sammy Pinnington from Luton Town, and Kacey Wooster from Southend United.

All of these young talents will aim to follow in the footsteps of Lewis Miley, the latest academy product to find success with the Newcastle first team.
