“I’d love to finish my career here” – Newcastle fan favourite makes exciting claim about his long-term future at the club

 Newcastle star Dan Burn has discussed his long-term future, expressing a strong desire to conclude his career with the Magpies.

Since joining Newcastle United from Brighton in January 2022, Burn has established himself as a dependable and consistent defensive presence. His versatility, leadership, and impressive 6’7″ stature have made him a fan favorite at his boyhood club. Under Eddie Howe’s management, Burn has played a crucial role in Newcastle’s resurgence, helping the team achieve a top-four finish in the 2022-2023 Premier League season and qualify for the Champions League for the first time in two decades.

Originally set to expire in the summer of 2025, Burn's contract was extended by one year when the club triggered that option in October, ensuring he will remain with the team until at least the summer of 2026.

Burn has voiced his intention to finish his career at Newcastle, stating in an interview with iNews: “I’d love to finish my career here. I’ve moved back home now, my kids are with their family, and we get to see our family a lot. It was always the plan to end my career here. We just have to wait and see; we have many talented players, and we’re on an upward trajectory, so I’ll keep trying to play as long as I can. I feel like I’ve been performing well this season. I’m not someone who’s content just being a good trainer and sitting on the bench; I want to play, and I believe I can contribute to this team.”
