Abubakar is seeking N30 billion in damages from Rollas following his announcement of her suspension on social media.
According to HENRYSHUSTLE, Abubakar was suspended due to her alleged involvement in defaming Nollywood. In response to the accusations, she stated that she had not been contacted or given a chance to address the claims prior to the announcement.
In a letter dated October 20, 2024, from her legal team, P.D. Pius & Associates, Abubakar accused the AGN president of intentionally damaging her reputation.
“Our client has been struggling with health issues for years, and despite maintaining a professional relationship, you chose this sensitive time in her recovery to disseminate a false narrative. This has caused her emotional distress and negatively impacted her standing in society.”
The lawyers demanded the immediate removal of the defamatory post from Rollas’ Instagram and called for a public apology, along with N30 billion for reputational harm.
The letter concluded with a warning: “If these demands are not met within 7 days, we are instructed by our client to take appropriate legal action.”
