Farmer’s Bride co-director, Opukeme speaks on core message, lessons behind the film

 Jack’enneth Opukeme, the writer and co-director of *Farmer’s Bride*, has shared insights into the film’s central message and the lessons it seeks to convey.

Opukeme, who co-directed the film with Adebayo Tijani, made these comments while speaking to a select group of journalists on October 3rd during the movie press screening at Filmhouse Cinemas in Lekki.

Drawing inspiration from the character Odewale in Ola Rotimi’s *The Gods Are Not to Blame*, Opukeme expressed that humanity is complex and difficult to predict, especially when individuals are cornered. He explained that if Funmi hadn’t been compelled by her parents to marry the wealthy farmer against her will, the tragic outcomes for both her and Femi might have been avoided.
