This was Falz’s first comment on the ongoing legal dispute with VeryDarkMan, which arose after a leaked voice recording of crossdresser Bobrisky suggested that Falz and his father, Femi Falana—a human rights lawyer—allegedly approached him regarding a N10 million presidential pardon during Bobrisky's six-month imprisonment for naira abuse. The audio, which VeryDarkMan shared on social media, sparked a range of reactions online.
In response to the backlash, Falz clarified in a lawsuit that it was Bobrisky who had contacted him seeking financial help.
During a recent interview on the Afro Beats podcast, Falz highlighted that VeryDarkMan has no evidence to support his claims. He criticized VeryDarkMan for not offering a public apology and threatened to give him the trouble he seems to want.
“When I reached out to him about the audio, he became defensive right away. I said, ‘Bro, just listen. Why are you fighting?’ He responded, ‘You’re a lawyer; you can go to court.’
“I want him to understand that defamation can have criminal implications, but I chose not to pursue that route. He could have faced arrest because what he posted is completely false. I asked him to take it down and apologize within a specific timeframe, but he did nothing.
“I don’t know if he sees himself as a hero in this. He didn’t apologize, and now people are trying to paint me as the oppressor. If he wants to stir up trouble, that’s my area of expertise. If that’s what he’s looking for, let’s go.”
