Bobrisky: Falana responds to allegation against him, issues ultimatum to VeryDarkMan

Human rights lawyer Femi Falana has responded to allegations made against him in a viral audio clip released by Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan.

Falana condemned the claim that he sought a presidential pardon for Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, in exchange for N10 million, calling it a malicious and reckless attempt to tarnish his reputation.

The senior lawyer stated that he has never discussed Bobrisky's alleged pardon or any related matters. In a letter sent to VeryDarkMan on Wednesday by his legal representative, Taiwo Olawanle, Falana demanded an immediate retraction of the publication along with a public apology across all platforms within 24 hours.

“The entire publication was a malicious, reckless attempt to damage our client's reputation and lower his standing in the eyes of the public. We assert unequivocally that our client has never spoken to Bobrisky regarding any pardon or any other issue.

“We, therefore, demand an immediate retraction of the defamatory publication and a prominent apology across all platforms where it was shared, with no justification whatsoever.

“Please be advised that if we do not receive your formal retraction and apology within 24 hours of this notice, we will proceed with legal actions, including seeking monetary damages for the defamatory statements,” part of the letter stated.

HENRYSHUSTLE reports that in the viral audio, Bobrisky also claimed that certain unnamed operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) demanded N15 million from him to drop money laundering charges.

However, in an Instagram post on Wednesday morning, Bobrisky denied bribing any EFCC officer to dismiss the charges, asserting that he served his time in prison.
