 Nollywood veteran Kanayo O. Kanayo has expressed concern that men are becoming "endangered species." He highlighted that affluent men often lavish money on female actors, creating a perception that male actors are not as hard-working.

Speaking on 'The Honest Bunch' podcast hosted by Husband Material and Deity Cole, Kanayo remarked, "Many wealthy Nigerian men support our female colleagues in ways that diminish our efforts. They'll call a girl, she'll ask for N100 million to N150 million for a production, and they'll readily provide it. But if it were me, they'd say 'go and work hard, my friend.'"

He emphasized the disparity, noting, "Have you ever seen a woman seek financial assistance for medical bills? It's typically the men. We are becoming endangered, that's my point."
