‘Cultism has entered Nigerian music industry’ – Terry G

Gabriel Oche Amanyi, popularly known as Terry G, has expressed concern that cultism has taken over the Nigerian music scene. According to the 'Akpako Master,' he believes that non-cultists like himself are increasingly unable to thrive in the industry. Speaking on the Afrobeats Podcast, Terry G emphasized that eliminating cultism would restore unity within the music community. He reminisced about a time when cultism was primarily associated with universities, contrasting it with its current presence in music. Terry G suggested that the industry could foster more harmony if cultism were eradicated, lamenting that musicians who refrain from such affiliations now face challenges in their careers. He called for a reduction in cultism's influence, asserting that it poses a significant obstacle to the Nigerian music industry's cohesion and creative freedom.
