I’m not aware of rivalry between Asake, Seyi Vibez – Ayra Starr

Afrobeats singer Ayra Starr has denied being aware of any rivalry between her colleagues Asake and Seyi Vibez. Although Asake and Seyi Vibez have not had a public altercation, their fanbases often clash on social media.

During a recent interview with The Beat FM Lagos, Starr was asked if her decision to feature both artists on her sophomore album, ‘The Year I Turned 21,’ was influenced by their supposed rivalry. She denied any knowledge of such a rivalry, explaining that she chose to work with them due to their musical talent.

Starr stated, “I didn’t include Asake and Seyi Vibez on my album because of their rivalry. I didn’t know about any rivalry between them. I simply love both of them as artists.

“I’m really focused on sonics; what sounds good sonically. My team often considers the business side, but I’m just thinking about who would be sonically compatible with me. I’ve been listening to Seyi Vibez’s ‘Different Pattern’ for a long time, so I decided to collaborate with him. When I sent him the track, he sent his verse almost immediately. Asake was also quick, sending his verse in three days.”
