My family distribute electricity to most of Nigeria – Davido

Renowned singer David Adeleke, known as Davido, recently asserted that his family plays a significant role in providing electricity to a considerable portion of Nigeria.

He mentioned that his family possesses four power plants, which play a crucial role in meeting Nigeria's energy demands.

Speaking on the American podcast 'Business Untitled' about his family's business ventures and his personal investments, Davido shared, "I once explored cryptocurrency due to its popularity in Nigeria. Additionally, my family and I are involved in the ownership of four substantial power plants that supply energy across a significant part of Nigeria."

He added, "My wife is passionate about culinary arts, and we're considering launching a restaurant for her. However, my primary focus remains on my music, which is my true passion."

While Davido comes from a wealthy background with investments in the energy sector, some may question his assertion that his family's power plants cater to most of Nigeria's energy needs. It's worth noting that the majority of Nigeria's major thermal and hydropower plants are government-owned.
