Nigerian musician Michael Adebayo Olayinka, better known as Ruger, recently admitted to possessing two firearms during a discussion about the origin of his stage name in an interview with content creator Timi Agbaje.
When asked about the inspiration behind his stage name, Ruger straightforwardly replied that it's derived from a gun. Prompted further about whether he actually owns a firearm, Ruger confirmed, saying he possesses two.
However, Ruger didn't provide details regarding the legality of his firearms ownership.
Last year, the Inspector-General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun, announced a temporary halt on firearms issuance, emphasizing efforts to control the proliferation of weapons. He noted that while the policy might be reviewed later, firearms licenses are currently not being issued nationwide.
