Ahmedu Augustine Obiabo, widely known as Blackface, a prominent dancehall artist and former member of the now-defunct Plantashun Boiz group, has expressed skepticism about the possibility of a reunion.
The Plantashun Boiz, comprising Blackface, 2Face (2Baba), and Faze, held sway in the Nigerian music scene from the late 1990s to the mid-2000s. Following their split in 2004 and a brief reunion in 2007, the group disbanded once more.
In a recent interview with Channels TV, Blackface emphasized that the likelihood of the group reuniting was slim. He noted that if a reunion were feasible, the members would have already convened to discuss it, which hasn't occurred, indicating a lack of interest.
Regarding his rapport with his former bandmates, Blackface stated, "I maintain communication with Faze and have friendly ties with 2Baba's relatives. However, in terms of personal interaction with him, it's strictly business. I see no reason to wait for someone who isn't committed to a collaborative endeavor."
