How I left a show crying after audience didn’t recognise me – Fireboy

"Nigerian musician, Adedamola Adefolahan, famously known as Fireboy DML, reminisced about a painful experience when he left an event he was performing at in tears after receiving no recognition or attention.

The 'Peru' singer recalled this incident from his early days as a struggling artist, highlighting the challenges faced by those trying to make it in the industry.

In an interview with Billboard News, Fireboy DML emphasized that every emerging artist encounters difficulties. He recounted, 'There was a performance I did where I felt completely unnoticed. Despite being on stage, it seemed like nobody acknowledged my presence. The audience was engrossed in dancing, and the DJ was focused on the music. I felt invisible, and it led me to leave the venue in tears with my friend.'

He resolved never to settle for less than he deserves, vowing, 'I made a promise to myself that day: I won't seek recognition until I believe I've earned it.'"
