Augustine Obiabo Amedu, widely recognized as Blackface, has leveled allegations of intellectual property infringement against fellow artist Shallipopi.
Blackface, a former member of Plantashun Boiz, asserts that Shallipopi utilized a sample from his track 'Enemy Plan' in Shallipopi's debut album 'Shakepopi' without obtaining permission.
In a video posted on his Instagram page on Sunday, Blackface questioned whether Nigerian artists are unable to create music without replicating his sound or melody.
In pidgin, he expressed, "So una dey talk say if dem no copy my sound or melody, dem no fit get song to sing? Alright, I don do remix for una, make una better comot hand from this project."
Shallipopi has not responded to the accusation yet.
